Create Lithuania opens applications: we are looking for participants to drive the economic transformation

On April 3rd, the Create Lithuania programme initiates its selection process for new participants. This year, candidates are met with a significant shift as the programme adopts a new focus: economic transformation. The programme seeks motivated, ambitious, and talented individuals who are eager to innovate in finance, technology, industry, artificial intelligence, governance, and other sectors within Lithuania.

Monika Merkytė, the head of the programme, underscores the broad spectrum of projects awaiting implementation by participants. “Economic transformation hinges on a multitude of factors: legislative initiatives, social and educational policies, technological advancements, and innovations in the green economy. We invite individuals with a holistic vision and a willingness to pursue the most unconventional ideas to apply for the programme,” she emphasizes.

Candidates are expected to:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or higher academic degree,
  • Have two years of work experience,
  • Be proficient in English,
  • Possess analytical skills, and the ability to work in teams.

Additional experience in project management, along with international study or work experience, is viewed as advantageous.

The application window remains open until May 5th. Successful applicants will engage in the Create Lithuania programme for a duration of 12 months, during which they will undertake two projects within public sector institutions. These projects aim to devise solutions with national or EU-wide significance.

Examples of these projects, among others, include streamlining migration procedures, developing the deposit system, refining the retraining system, establishing the GovtechLab, fortifying the cybersecurity system, rebuilding Ukraine, and others.

Operating under the auspices of Invest Lithuania, the Create Lithuania programme has been active since 2012. Each year, approximately 20 participants from various sectors are selected to implement their projects across various state institutions. Post-programme, an estimated 60% of participants opt to remain within the public sector, contributing to ongoing initiatives and shaping the future landscape of Lithuania.
