Applications open for professionals to transform the public sector through Create Lithuania

In April 7, the recruitment process for new participants in the Create Lithuania programme officially began. Motivated, critical, and ambitious professionals with international experience are invited to apply, with the opportunity to implement transformative projects in the public sector aimed at accelerating Lithuania’s economic breakthrough.

Create Lithuania participants are project managers focused on advancing the country’s progress in key areas such as the green economy, artificial intelligence, high-tech development, and strengthening the defense industry, among others.

Lukas Savickas, Minister of Economy and Innovation and an alumnus of Create Lithuania, believes the programme presents a unique opportunity for talented individuals to return to Lithuania and apply the knowledge they’ve gained abroad. “The public sector is where change begins—not just within the country but also across the EU. By collaborating with leaders from society, science, and business, participants have the chance to help position Lithuania as an example for other countries,” he said.

Monika Merkytė, the head of Create Lithuania programme, highlights that the primary criteria for selecting participants are strong motivation and a commitment to implementing data-driven solutions, which often present challenges. “Last year, we received around 360 applications, from which we selected 18 participants. Being a project manager at Create Lithuania is not a typical job. We seek future leaders who are critical, demanding, and capable of uniting different institutions toward a common goal,” she emphasized.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least two years of professional work experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

Study and/or work experience abroad is considered an advantage.

The selection process will run until May 5, and interested candidates are encouraged to complete the application form.

About Create Lithuania: Create Lithuania is an Invest Lithuania programme that has been running since 2012. Each year, around 60% of programme graduates continue working within the public sector. The programme’s projects, which have won several international awards, have contributed to major initiatives such as the development of Lithuania’s deposit system, the establishment of GovtechLab, reconstruction efforts in Ukraine, and the promotion of circular economy practices.
