Motivation

I had spent most of my career in the NGO sector in England as I wanted a job with a purpose – something that would benefit local communities and the most vulnerable members of society.

When I decided to come back to Lithuania after 18 years of being away, I really wasn’t sure what field/sector I’d be able to, and want to, work in, as the NGO sector doesn’t seem to have as many options here as it does in the UK.

Fortunately, I discovered the Create Lithuania programme which aligns with my values and ambition and is a wonderful stepping stone for starting a new career in my motherland. I chose the ‘Systemic Lithuanian language teaching module for cultural integration’ topic for my assessment presentation as it hit close to home for me, and was delighted to be offered to work on the topic form my first project.
