The programme draws unprecedented interest with record number of applications
The selection of new Create Lithuania participants attracted a record number of applications – 357 people wanted to join the programme. Create Lithuania, aimed at fostering economic transformation within the Lithuanian public sector, will welcome just 18 professionals to embark on impactful projects throughout the 2024-2025 period.
This number of applicants marks a significant increase by 38% compared to the previous year. Monika Merkytė, the head of the programme, expressed her delight at the increasing eagerness shown by applicants to contribute to a brighter future for Lithuania.
“It is clear that in Lithuania and abroad there are a lot of people with a vested interest in our country’s prosperity. The 12-month programme will give participants the opportunity to experiment, collaborate with policymakers, and take on breakthrough projects,” she said.
Applications came in from a diverse array of candidates hailing from Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and other countries.
The further selection process will consist of several stages: a cycle of interviews and a practical task. The new generation of Create Lithuania participants will start their work in early September.
Established in 2012, Create Lithuania is an Invest Lithuania programme that has already attracted nearly 300 professionals. Their achievements include the founding of the Govtech Lab, the reconstruction of Ukraine, the development of the deposit system, and other breakthrough initiatives.
